Briefs: Sports complex, charity drive, heard saying
Hearing for sports complexThe Loudoun County Planning Commission is holding a public hearing May 15 to get residents' feedback on a sports complex planned for Ashburn.
The $40 million project is being developed by Play to Win LLC and includes six outdoor artificial athletics fields and three more inside a 225,000-square-foot building. A swimming academy, retail space and offices also are part of the plans.
The hearing is one of seven scheduled for the evening. They begin at 6 p.m. in the board room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. S.E., Leesburg.
Charity driveOwners of the Dulles Greenway will donate all of the tolls collected on May 15 to local charities. Last year, the Drive for Charity Event raised more than $180,000 for the March of Dimes, the Loudoun chapter of the Special Olympics, the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, Fresh Air/Full Care, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and the Dulles Greenway Citizenship Award.
Board meeting
The next business meeting of the Board of Supervisors is May 20 at 9 a.m. The public may address supervisors on May 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Government Center.
