Middleburg
Used-book sale, Dog Day, Boy Scout troop, Twilight Polo and wine tasting

Used-book sale: The annual used book sale at Middleburg Library will be held rain or shine on May 17, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. For more details, call 540-687-5730.
Dog Day: The Middleburg Community Center is hosting Dog Day in May on Saturday, May 17. Bring your dog or just come to watch the tail-wagging good time. For details, call 540-687-6375.
Middleburg troop: Middleburg now has its own Boy Scout Troop. The new troop is lead by Paul Davies, who has been involved in Scouting most of his life. The boys are 11 to 17 years old and come from the immediate area including Hill School, Wakefield and Notre Dame Academy. Some of the activities they will enjoy learning are camping, hiking, reading a map, reading a compass and cooking three-course meals at the campfire. The troop is grateful for the American Legion donating its space for their meetings. The Boy Scout Troop 2950 meets every Monday, 7-8:30 p.m., at the American Legion Post 295. Twilight Polo: The Twilight Polo season at Great Meadow runs from Saturday, May 31, through Saturday, Sept. 13. with the exception of Aug. 9, which be bull riding by Twisted K Productions. Tickets for Twilight Polo are $20 per car or $10 a person at the gate. There are also a limited number of seasonal tailgating rail spots and boxes available by request.
