Dulles Airport enrolled in Customs pilot program

For international travelers, there's nothing worse than facing U.S. Customs after a long flight.

Starting June 10, Washington Dulles International Airport is offering an expedited customs check, which allows preapproved, low-risk travelers clearance upon arrival into the United States.

U.S. citizens and U.S. lawful permanent residents ages 14-years and older can apply to this program.

Global Entry began accepting applications for the program May 12, using the Global On-Line Enrollment System

The application fee, payable online, is $100.

The clearance is also available to approved travelers at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

Prior to approval, applicants must be interviewed for eligibility at one of the enrollment centers that CBP has established at these airports.

Travelers must be preapproved before they can participate in the pilot project.
