How to get inauguration tickets

Though they are hard to get, it’s not impossible to obtain tickets to President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration Jan. 20 in Washington, D.C.

A limited number of tickets for the swearing-in ceremony of the 44th president of the United States will be distributed to constituents in January by senators and representatives of the 111th Congress.

Loudoun residents may request tickets by visiting Rep. Frank Wolf’s Web site at wolf.house.gov or Sen. Jim Webb’s Web site at webb.senate.gov.

Senator-elect Mark Warner (D), who is replacing Sen. John Warner (R), will be sworn in in January with other members of the 111th Congress.

Clemens takes new post

Loudoun Clerk of the Circuit Court Gary M. Clemens recently concluded his term as president of the Virginia Court Clerks’ Association. He served from September 2007 to October 2008. Clemens ends his term as he begins a new appointment to an electronic-filing study group committee established by Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leroy Hassell. The committee will review procedural issues related to the acceptance of electronic filings of lawsuits and other legal documents.
