Potomac Falls records true win against Martinsburg

By Carl Lukat

Potomac Falls displayed a high-powered offensive attack in its 39-30 victory over West Virginia power Martinsburg, Aug. 29 in Sterling.

The Panthers lost to Martinsburg 34-6 in 2007, but were awarded a forfeit victory due to Martinsburg having an ineligible player on its roster. This time, Potomac Falls got the job done on the playing field.

Michael Baker racked up more than 200 yards of total offense and scored four touchdowns -- three on the ground and one through the air. Greg Woodlief connected with Baker on one of his two touchdown passes in the game, and also ran for a score.

Potomac Falls will look to build on its early momentum Sept. 5 when they head to West Virginia to play Hedgesville.
