Stone Bridge makes quick work of McLean

By Carl Lukat

The Stone Bridge Bulldogs combined seven touchdowns with a safety in the first half to build a 51-0 lead by halftime of Friday's home game against McLean.

That was more than enough as coach Mickey Thompson rested his starters in the second half and the Bulldogs still easily held on for a 51-13 victory.

Daniel Allen had a spectacular game for Stone Bridge (2-0 in the Libery District, 5-0 overall). The senior running back found the end zone on each of his rushing attempts in the game, netting 167 yards and four touchdowns on just four carries.

Senior quarterback Patrick Thompson connected with three different receivers -- Nate Ingersoll, twin brother Zach Thompson and Michael Prince -- on touchdown passes. Thompson completed 10 of 14 passes for 184 yards and was intercepted twice.

Nick Sheehan led the Bulldogs with three receptions, totaling 46 yards. Stone Bridge limited McLean to seven yards in the first half. John Bladel, Spenser Rositano and Sheehan made fumble recoveries.

The Bulldogs play at South Lakes Oct. 3.
