Titans dominate in first win

Deandre Reaves ran wild in helping the Dominion Titans to their first win of the season, a 35-7 defeat of the Freedom Eagles Friday night in Sterling.

The super sophomore broke off touchdown runs of 52, 22 and 58 yards before halftime, capping the evening with an 85-yard kickoff return for a score. Reaves gained 247 yards in averaging more than 10 yards per carry.

Trey Baxter added 89 yards on 15 carries as Dominion (1-0, 1-3) won its Dulles District opener. Aaron Good connected with Andy Pont on a 56-yard touchdown pass for the Titans.

The Titan defense permitted the Eagles 1.7 yards per rushing attempt.

It was the first victory at Dominion for new coach Karl Buckwalter.

The Eagles (0-1, 1-3) have now lost two straight after breaking an 11-game losing skid Sept. 5. T.J. Mizzell scored Freedom's lone touchdown on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles will host Park View (0-1, 1-3) Oct. 3 in hopes of evening their district mark. Dominion will test itself with a road contest with Briar Woods (0-1, 3-1) Oct. 3.
