Ringling takes families ‘Over the Top!’ - The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus presents a new show, “Over The Top,” through April 19 at the Patriot Center, George Mason University, Fairfax campus, 4500 Patriot Circle.A wacky and whimsical circus spectacular, the show treats audiences to the tussle between ringmaster Chuck Wagner and clown eccentric Tom Dougherty, who compete for control of a magical top hat. The competition brings to life their fantastical imaginations. Dogs fly, Asian elephants skip, hop and groove, and one courageous man stands eye-to-eye with a pack of powerful Bengal tigers.
One of the show’s clowns, Cricket, went to Oakton High School in Vienna. Some clowns in makeup do not divulge their names.
Remaining show times are: Thursday, April 16, 7 p.m.; Friday, April 17, 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday, April 18, 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, April 19, 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
