Small businesses recognized
The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce unveiled the winners of the 2009 Small Business Awards last week. More than 425 business and community leaders attended the 15th annual event at Lansdowne Resort.
The nonprofit category was introduced this year to recognize the vital role nonprofits play in the economy and the entrepreneurial talents of the staff. Among the other categories were agriculture/equine, franchise, home-based and service business.
"These businesses and the entrepreneurs that lead them represent the very best that Loudoun's small business community has to offer," said Dave Trosko, vice president of wealth management at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. "The passion, drive and courage these entrepreneurs exhibit in pursuit of their dreams and ideas are truly awe-inspiring and the Loudoun County Chamber is honored to be associated with them."
Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce President Tony Howard referred to the award winners as "among the most dynamic, innovative and successful companies in the region."
