Aurora School sessions and tour

The Aurora School at its new Margaret Paxton Memorial Learning and Resource Campus in Leesburg will host a night for parents starting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18.

The event will include a campus tour and sessions for parents including “IEP CheckUp” (on how parents can be an effective part of their child’s team) “Waivers 101” and “Nutrition and Diet.”

The Arc of Loudoun's Aurora School serves students ages 2 to 22 with autism, developmental disabilities, speech and language impairments, traumatic brain injuries, health impairments and intellectual disabilities.

The goal of The Arc of Loudoun’s Parent Network Group, which is hosting the event, is to empower parents by bringing them together with advocates, therapists, specialists and other parents within the community.

The school is at 420 Wildman St. in Leesburg.

For more information or to RSVP, contact Pam Schoppert at parentnetwork@thearcofloudoun.org.
