Leesburg student chosen as resident adviser
John Plummer, of Leesburg, a senior majoring in biological sciences and psychology, was chosen to be a resident adviser at Virginia Tech for the 2009-10 academic year.
In order to be chosen as a resident adviser, students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing, complete at least 30 credit hours, take a training course, and go through an extensive interview process.
Resident advisers live in the residential halls with other students and serve as peer advisers and university liaisons to their student residents. They help to foster relationships between residents, plan activities and educational programs, serve as a resource for university and community services, and enforce residence hall and university policies.
