Not just a tree
Meadows Farms Nurseries is one of those businesses already preparing for the holidays, but it doesn't just give you a tree, it offers a great experience.
When customers first arrive at the nursery, they see those candy cane poles and decorative lights displaying trees of all sizes.
"We offer a great experience for families to enjoy,” assistant manager Tim Davis said. The nursery offers hot chocolate, music and a bonfire for guests to enjoy as they search for that perfect tree.
Heritage High School plans to have its student chorale come out and sing holiday songs to everyone.
The weekends of Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 are expected to have the largest crowds. The parking lot at the nursery, off Route 7 east of Leesburg, is usually packed with customers already scouting out which tree to take home.
"Everyone goes home with a tree,” Davis said. "We usually have about 2,000 trees in stock and last year there were only about four or five left after the holidays." Most of the trees come from North Carolina and will be delivered Nov. 19.
Next year will mark Meadows Farms' 50th anniversary. Every year, workers have to start decorating earlier. This year workers at Meadows Farms, like Davis, have been decorating since Halloween.
"We have quality material at a low price, which makes it a fun time for the entire family,” Davis said.
