    Airborne deer hits Ashburn woman

A jogger was hit by a flying deer Dec. 5 in Ashburn.

A 71-year-old South Riding woman was driving a 2010 Toyota Rav4 southbound on Claiborne Parkway at about 6 p.m. when a deer ran into the street. The woman hit the deer with the front passenger side of the vehicle, sending the deer airborne. As it landed, it hit a 27-year-old Ashburn woman who was jogging.

Both the driver and jogger were taken to the Inova Loudoun Hospital in Loudoun for non-life-threatening injuries.
