Bristow man struck by vehicle, killed while walking on Sycolin Road

A Bristow man died Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle on Sycolin Road near Bolen Park.

Around 1:40 a.m., Loudoun County sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Sycolin Road in Leesburg for a report of a pedestrian who was struck by the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser. The driver, an Ashburn man, remained on scene. The victim, a 27-year-old Bristow man, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released.

A preliminary investigation determined the victim was walking in the southbound lane of the roadway when he was struck by the driver of the Toyota.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact Investigator D. Lake of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit at 703-737-8307.
