UPDATE: Cascades Parkway crash claims the life of Sterling woman
The victim who lost her life due to the crash has been identified as 65-year-old Dorothy Pearson of Sterling.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Sterling woman Tuesday.
The collision occurred around 4 p.m. in the area of Cascades Parkway between Maries Road and Woodland Road. The driver of a southbound Ford Expedition may have had a medical emergency when his vehicle crossed the center median and struck an oncoming PT Cruiser.
The driver of the PT Cruiser, whose identity has not been released, lost her life at the scene.
The driver of the SUV and a passenger were taken to Reston Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit. Anyone who witnessed the crash and has not already spoken to law enforcement is asked to contact Investigator R. Beach at 703-777-1021.
