Claude Moore scholarship winners

The Loudoun Education Foundation has announced five winners of the 2012 Claude Moore Charitable Foundation Teacher Endorsement scholarships.

The scholarships go to current Loudoun County Public School teachers who have worked within LCPS for two years and are seeking endorsements in critical teaching areas.

The following were awarded scholarships:

•Nicola Thu Lê – Dominion High School’s United States history and philosophy teacher pursuing a degree in library science from The Catholic University.
•Douglas P. Poland – Stone Bridge High School’s math and computer science teacher pursuing licensure in instructional technology from George Mason University.
•Sheila J. Reilly – a Potowmack Elementary School first grade teacher pursuing an ELL/ESOL certification and a master’s degree in education/ELL/ESOL from George Mason University.
•Kathleen Rush – a Farmwell Station Middle School sixth and seventh grade art teacher pursuing a master’s degree in ITS/TRT endorsement from George Mason University.
•Bridget O’Malley – a J. Lupton Simpson Middle School seventh grade math teacher pursuing a degree in education leadership and math specialist leadership from George Mason University.
