Comedian Lucas Bohn to perform at Leesburg’s Del Rio restaurant April 13
Bohn, a former elementary school teacher, has performed with comedians such as Dave Chappelle, Jimmy Fallon and Pablo Francisco.
Known as "one of the most booked college comedians on the East Coast," Bohn brings a high energy act with lots of voices and impersonations to the stage.
"I think people relate to me because I talk about real subjects. I’m a normal guy and I have the same issues that everybody else has, I just find a way to make it all funny. I’ve also been the runner-up in two comedy festivals and was recently picked up by a management company in New York," he said.
Bohn became involved in community theatre at an early age, consistently adding lines to make the audience laugh.
"I remember thinking, 'People thought that was funny.' I was hooked from then on. I listened to CDs, records and tapes from comedians like Henny Youngman and Rodney Dangerfield. I started writing jokes and telling them at lunch. I ended up doing a talent show during a cruise with my grandparents when I was 10. I went out in front of 500 people and did 10 minutes of jokes, some I had written and some were ones I had heard. It went over really well. I became an instant celebrity on the ship and I even got to meet the captain who was not at my performance but had gotten wind of the show," he said.
Catch Bohn's act starting at 10 p.m. April 13. Tickets are $20 with proceeds going to the Susan G Koman Walk for the Cure Event.
