Davis to step down as assistant town manager in Purcellville

Purcellville's assistant town manager, Danny Davis, has announced he will be stepping down from his position effective Sept. 29.

Davis, 35, has accepted the role as president of the Tribute Assisted Living at One Loudoun community in Ashburn.

"This was an opportunity that presented itself to me that I had not previously considered. I will be able to jump into a new field, which will entail building a community and making a difference in people's lives in a more targeted focus than I am now," Davis said.

Davis joined the town's staff in September 2015, and said he is very grateful for the time he spent working for Purcellville.

"I have learned an incredible amount and appreciate the opportunity to work with town staff and give back to the community," Davis added.

Interim town manager Alex Vanegas said he wished Davis "great success."

"He is moving on to a great opportunity, and I have enjoyed working with him over the years. He is a very capable individual," Vanegas said.

Davis has worked in the public sector for almost 14 years. Prior to serving as Purcellville's assistant town manager, he worked as chief of staff to County Administrator Tim Hemstreet.

Davis lives in Ashburn with his wife, Angela, and their three children.
