Downtown Leesburg’s Shoe’s Cup and Cork reopens

After being closed for several weeks to "refresh" their menu and complete repairs from a small fire in the back kitchen area, Shoe's Cup and Cork on S. King Street in Leesburg has reopened.

Margaret Brown, a spokeswoman for Shoe's Cup and Cork, said the fire repairs were minor and the owners, Karen and Fred Schaufeld of Leesburg, used the opportunity to open up the space on the main level and make a few tweaks to the menu.

The menu will now include items such as mac and cheese, breakfast sandwiches, a charcuterie plate and more vegan and vegetarian options.

In honor of Fire Prevention Month in October, Shoes has announced that firefighters can dine in the restaurant for free during the entire month. In addition, on Halloween day, anyone who is dressed up like a firefighter can eat for free.

Shoes will be hosting a grand reopening celebration Friday, with a ribbon cutting event at 11:30 a.m.
