DUI checkpoint slated for Saturday night

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a joint sobriety checkpoint with the Fairfax County Police Department on July 15. The sobriety checkpoint will begin shortly after10 p.m.

The sheriff's office announces the time of their checkpoints but not locations. The LCSO conducts around one DUI checkpoint a month.

“The joint sobriety checkpoint is a reminder to residents to make the smart choice, don’t drink and drive,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman (R) in a statement.

Members of the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary Unit and volunteers from the Loudoun Chapter of MADD will assist with the checkpoint.

It appears that no one was caught in the trap which appears to be a good sign.  On another hand, LCSO made 15 alcohol related arrests over the weekend.
