The Loudoun County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management held a training session May 11 for around 40 staff members from the International Association of Fire Chiefs. The IAFC office personnel were able to experience the kind of fire and rescue training that their organization supports, such as putting on fire fighter gear to enter and put out a fire in a burning building, vehicle extrication with hydraulic tools commonly called the jaws of life, and riding in the basket of a ladder truck.

They also had bomb squad demonstrations, hazmat drills, EMS scenarios and were given the chance to ride in the basket of a ladder truck.
