A Loudoun County grand jury on Oct. 21 indicted 75 individuals in one of the largest indictment lists of the year.
Crimes ranged from drug possession and driving under the influence to malicious wounding and object sexual penetration.
Some of the more noteworthy indictments are listed below.
•Marlow Mokassa Afshartous, an area basketball coach, faces two charges of object sexual penetration, two charges of sodomy and one charge of solicitation to manufacture child pornography. Afshartous is accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl he trained in basketball from April to November in 2012.
•Delonte Darius Anderson of Washington D.C. faces four charges of felony credit card fraud from a June 14 incident.
•Dylan Scott Anderson of Hamilton was charged July 31 with distributing LSD. Anderson has previously faced numerous other charges, including trespassing, possession of marijuana, contempt of court and a plethora of driving infractions.
•Christopher Jay Carroll of Leesburg was indicted from July 14 charges of driving after being declared a habitual offender, driving under the influence, eluding, hit and run and refusal of a blood or breath test.
•Nathan Ramon Derr of Fairfax was indicted for an Aug. 1 assault and battery of a law enforcement officer.
•Darius Trenny Foster of Aldie is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and robbery of a business with a gun for his role in a July 24 robbery of a 7-Eleven in Sterling. Foster, along with Jonathan Andrew Jones of Aldie and Samuel Tyler Johnson of Chantilly, entered a 7-Eleven at 21944 Cascades Parkway in Sterling with guns, assaulting the clerk before taking money from both him and the cash register. The three then drove to nearby Herndon to try to rob two McDonald's restaurants on Elden Street. After trying to flee by in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, which they stole from South Riding, they exited on foot before being apprehended by Fairfax County Police.
•Jennifer Lynn Galindo of Sterling was indicted for charges stemming from a Sept. 3 incident. She faces charges of strangling another to cause wounding or injury and misdemeanor assault and battery of a family member.
•Nancy Linate of Leesburg was indicted for July 26 charges of strangling another to cause wounding or injury and assault and battery.
•Brian Michael Walton of Springfield, VA was indicted for a myriad of charges. He faces accusations of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny of checks, two counts of forgery, two counts of uttering, obtaining money by false pretense, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of operating a motorized vehicle while a habitual offender. His crimes were committed March 22 and April 8.
•Hellder Leonora Wright of Woodbridge was charged with three counts of embezzlement and 14 charges of felony larceny of checks from incidents in 2010.
