J. Hamilton Lambert, executive director of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation will be awarded for his philanthropic leadership in the Northern Virginia area at the Sweet Home Virginia Gala on Oct. 25.
On Oct. 25 J. Hamilton Lambert will be awarded for his philanthropic leadership in the Northern Virginia area at the Sweet Home Virginia Gala held at the Sheraton in Tyson's Corner.
Every year the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia gives the Community Leadership Award to an individual who works within the community on service and philanthropy related issues.
More than 600 business and community leaders will be present at the event. A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. and there will be a silent auction, dinner, awards presentation and live auction to follow.
Lambert is currently the Executive Director of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation in Fairfax. He has also worked with more than 30 charitable organizations in the Northern Virginia including The George Mason University Foundation, Virginia International University, Loudoun County Dy School and the Fairfax

Hamilton Lambert has made a tremendous impact in the community by giving his time and resources to investing in Northern Virginia,” said Eileen Ellsworth, President of the Community Foundation, “Lambert’s work at the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation has helped to ensure that the underprivileged are given opportunities to increase their academic competence and enhance their leadership skills.”
The Claude Moore Charitable Foundation was founded in 1987 to facilitate philanthropy in the community by helping connect culturally and economically underprivileged children in the community to better educational opportunities through scholarships and educational development.
In 2013 the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation has approved $2 million in grants for more than 50 organizations.
