LCSO seeks witness after stolen vehicle recovered in Leesburg

Detectives from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office are seeking potential witnesses after a vehicle stolen during a reported carjacking in Sterling earlier this weekend was located engulfed in flames in Leesburg this morning.

Around 2 a.m., Loudoun County Fire and Rescue personnel and the Town of Leesburg Police Department responded to the area of Forbes Court Northeast and Heritage Way Northeast for a vehicle fire. The investigation determined that the vehicle was a 2016 Toyota Highlander, reported stolen by two suspects Nov. 8 during an armed carjacking on Paddington Station Terrace in Sterling.

The suspects in that case were described as white males, possibly with tan/medium skin complexions and in their 20s or early 30s. One suspect was wearing a dark beanie, jacket and pants. The second was wearing a dark jacket and tan pants.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is working with the Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the vehicle fire, according to authorities.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Det. M. Grimsley of the LCSO at 703-777-0445. You may also submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app. The Loudoun Sheriff app is available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
