Leesburg man charged with murder stemming from 2001 homicide

A 36-year-old Leesburg man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Reston man 16 years ago.

Antwan Green is accused of killing 24-year-old Taj Noble in Temple Hills, Maryland, on Oct. 9, 2001, according to the Prince George's Police Department. Officers were called to the 3400 block of Brinkley Road around 11: 45 p.m. that night after reports of a shooting. They found Noble in a field suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Prince George's County police, the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a dispute over money.

Based on information from a witness, Green has been charged with first- and second-degree murder.

According to Prince George's County Police Department, Green, of the 400 block of Evans Ridge Terrace in Leesburg, is currently in custody in Fairfax County on unrelated charges. He is waiting extradition to Prince George's County.
