Leesburg man injured in accidental shooting

A 33-year-old Leesburg man suffered non life-threatening injuries April 20 after his firearm accidentally discharged while he was trying to store it.

The incident occurred about noon in the 43600 block of Greenway Corporate Drive in Ashburn.

Loudoun County Sheriff's deputies were alerted to the incident after they were called to the emergency room of Inova Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne for a report of a gunshot wounded victim.

The case is under investigation by the Loudoun Commonwealth Attorney's Office.

Negligence. It can happen to anyone, but a lot less likely to those who have been properly trained.

This just goes to show that he really should have been armed with another gun, that would shoot the errant bullet out of mid-air. He may even want to have a tertiary gun to shoot a possible second errant bullet shot out of is secondary weapon.

This wouldn’t have happened had he been armed…oh, wait a minute.
