According to the Leesburg Police Department, the man who was shot during Friday's incident is facing two felony charges.

Story: Dec. 8

Leesburg Police Department authorities are investigating a shooting at or near the Sheetz gas station on Edwards Ferry Road.

One victim was confirmed shot, according to LPD officials, and the suspect is in custody.

Here is the official statement from Leesburg Police Department:

"Leesburg Detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 900 block of Edwards Ferry Road.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m., a caller reported a disorderly subject inside the Sheetz located in the 900 block of Edwards Ferry Road to Leesburg dispatchers. A short time later, a 9-1-1 caller reported the same disorderly man inside the Tire Shop located behind Sheetz.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation began with the disorderly man and an employee of the Tire Shop. During the altercation the 9-1-1 caller shot the disorderly man. The disorderly man was subsequently transported to a local hospital with what appears to be, at this time, serious injuries. The 9-1-1 caller is cooperating with Leesburg detectives.

The scene is contained and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

There is no other information available about this incident at this time. "

Last updated on Dec 8th. I find it hard to believe that no additional details have been released by now.

“Sounds like a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy.  Liberals angry.”

Which is why there are no details in the article.  Can’t let that truth get out or people might know the intrinsic value of an armed society!

Sounds like a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy.  Liberals angry.

Suspect entered tire shop and began beating someone with a tire iron. Another employee shot him to protect the beaten employee. Don’t know why he attacked.

OK, so what happened?

Who has the details on what happened since LTM can’t seem to update in over 24 hours?

It’s called self-defense or defense of others.  Two other people on the scene were injured, one of which was likely the shooter who was taken to Cornwall.  The person shot (in the abdomen) was transported to Reston.

Guy probably didn’t like his chili dog…

The above comment is a dazzling display of ignorance.  You weren’t there EdMyers, I was.

EdMyers, read the subject of the article and third line. It says SUSPECT IN CUSTODY.  That means behind bars.

“The scene is contained and there is no ongoing threat to the community.”

I disagree. If someone escalated an altercation into a shooting and the police did not put the shooter behind bars, we have a danger in our community.
