The Leesburg Police Department seeks assistance in finding a suspect from a 22-year-old homicide case.
On Sept. 26, 1991, Ngau Ly and his younger brother Doung Ly were sitting in their car waiting for their shifts to begin when 33-year-old Bao Gia Luong approached the passenger side and shot Ngau Ly in the twice in the neck, killing him instantly. Gia Luong then shot Duong Ly several times, though he was able to get out of the car. Gia Luong chased Duong Ly, but his gun ran out of bullets, allowing Duong Ly to escape. Gia Luong then fled the scene in his gold 1986 Pontiac STE. The car was recovered several days later in Lower Paxton Township, Pa. with no sign of the driver.
The three men were colleagues at Barber and Ross, located on 110 Catoctin Circle SE in Leesburg. According to witnesses, the Ly brothers and Gia Luong had been involved in verbal altercations, which escalated to a physical altercation, prior to the shooting.
Gia Luong has not been seen since the crime was committed. At the time, investigators determined he had family in Harrisburg, Pa., Silver Spring, Md., San Jose, Ca. and Toronto.
