The office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court will begin mailing out juror questionnaires Aug. 23 to determine who is eligible to serve on a jury in Loudoun County. This year, 45,000 citizens, chosen randomly, will receive surveys.
“It’s basically a screening process to see who is qualified and eligible to serve jury duty next year,” said Gary Clemens, clerk of the Circuit Court.
Citizens deemed qualified will not be subject to jury duty until 2014.
This year, the questionnaires will be mailed out in six phases over a one-month span, with mailings continuing until Sept. 16.
Clemens ask that those people who receive the questionnaire read and complete the survey. There are two options to take the survey: online, via the website provided on the survey or by completing the paper questionnaire and mailing it in. Clemens and Jury Manager Leslie Kelly have requested that, if possible, people fill out the online survey.
