Two mini-dachshunds in Sterling have become Instagram stars at the tender age of one.

Maya and her big brother Winston, the dachshunds owned by Sterling's Christine Chang, flaunt nearly 100,000 combined followers on Instagram.

Chang initially started snapping puppy photos for friends and family. The dogs pose almost daily for pictures, appearing in a broad cross section of outfits and against a range of backdrops. Winston has been photographed wearing an assortment of bow ties and out in the snow, whereas Maya is regularly pictured with flowers and has even been known to sport a pair of glasses.

“I try to make their photos very colorful and not use the same kind of scene. Maya and Winston love to pose,” Chang said.

Chang said she can take up to 50 photos a day to find the perfect Instagram image. She takes them using a camera or an Iphone. Lighting is important, as is the treat after taking the shot, she said.

Some of the most popular photos have generated 10,000 likes per picture, while Maya and Winston's videos can be viewed 70,000-80,000 times.

“It's like a part-time job,” said Chang. “I spend time sharing with the public when I come home from work what they do daily. Pictures do take quite some time, and I have to process them. I really enjoy doing it, and the dogs are great.”

Maya (@MayaTheDox), who was born Feb. 8 2016, is an English cream mini-dachshund, which is a rare color among the breed in the United States, whereas brother Winston (@WinstonTheDox), born June 13, 2015, is a brown mini-dachshund. They have short legs and still look like puppies, a hallmark of the breed.

The duo's followers come mostly from the U.S, particularly New York, but their reach extends to the U.K. and Australia.

As for the future, Chang has tentative plans to open up an accessories shop selling items like the bows Maya wears in her photos.

There have even been offers from followers to buy the dogs. All have been met with a firm “no.”

I hope I bring a #smile to your face every day ????
