Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office to host sixth annual Child Safety Day

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Town of Leesburg Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, will be hosting its sixth annual Child Safety Day at the Village at Leesburg on Aug. 12, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The free event will have 10 police and rescue vehicles on display, from a crime scene unit to a Leesburg fire truck. Kids will also be able to “lend a hand in fighting crime” by putting their painted handprint on a police car.

Crime fighting and emergency help organizations will have representatives at the event where you can learn important information to keep your child and family safe. A few of the 12 organizations include INOVA pediatrics, Loudoun County Child Advocacy Center and the FBI.

Other entertainment at Child Safety Day includes a moon bounce, live music and games. There will also be a raffle following Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman’s presentation of the fourth Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Leadership Award at 1 p.m.

The Village at Leesburg is located at 1602 Village Market Blvd. SE, Leesburg.

Comments

Perhaps the sheriff’s office should just ride around route 7 and pull over all the cars with young kids/babies in front seat(not even in infant seat). Kids climbing over seats, not wearing seat belts. People holding babies. Of course they’d catch another 100+/day texting on cell phones.
