Loudoun Sheriff’s Office investigates assault of jogger

A woman was assaulted while jogging Monday around 7:10 a.m. on the W&OD Trail near Oak Grove Road in Sterling, according to a report released by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The attacker knocked the jogger to the ground from behind before assaulting her. The report said the man then fled on foot to the east toward Fairfax.

The sheriff's office described the man as 5 feet 6 inches tall, 200 pounds and muscular with short black hair. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing at the time of the assault.

Those with information on the attacker are asked to call Detective J.S. Chichocki of Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-737-8481.
