UPDATE: Loudoun sheriff’s office responds to shooting in Ashburn

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 21000 block of Blossom Hill Terrace in Ashburn Sunday afternoon to find a male suffering a gunshot wound.

The shooting involved two people known to each other and occurred inside a car, according to the LCSO.

Deputies responded to the scene in Ashburn shortly after 3 p.m., where a male was suffering a single gunshot wound. Those involved, a female and the adult male were located in a vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The adult male victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. How he was shot remains under investigation, authorities said.

The firearm involved in the incident was recovered near the scene.

Detectives determined there were no other subjects involved in the case and there is no threat to the public. The firearm involved in the incident was recovered near the scene.

Wow!  The other day it was a deputy and now a citizen.  Seems like everyone needs some remedial training!
