Loudoun supervisors set 2018 meeting schedule, re-elect Buona vice chairman

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors set its meeting schedule for 2018 and re-elected Supervisor Ralph Buona (R-Ashburn) vice chairman this week.

In the absence of Chairwoman Phyllis J. Randall (D-At Large), Buona will perform the duties of the chairman.

Under the rules of order adopted Wednesday, the board’s schedule of business meetings and public hearings will remain unchanged from 2017:

·Business meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m.
·Public hearings will be held on the Wednesday of the week following the first business meeting of the month at 6 p.m.
·Second business meetings will be held on the Thursday during the week following the monthly public hearing at 5 p.m.

Public input at the board’s business meetings will begin as early as 6:30 p.m. and are now be limited to 30 minutes of speaking time. At the second business meeting of the month, an additional time of public input limited to eight speakers will be included at the beginning of the agenda.

Board of Supervisors meetings are held in the board room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street, S.E. in Leesburg. The meetings are available for viewing on television on Comcast Government Channel 23, Open Band Channel 40, and Verizon FiOS Channel 40 and online at http://www.loudoun.gov/webcast.


I assume they cleared that with the developers first…
