Loudoun detectives seek public’s help in identifying Ashburn armed robbery suspect

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office released this surveillance image of a robbery at the Giant Pharmacy in Ashburn in progress.
An Ashburn pharmacy was robbed this morning of prescription drugs by an individual who implied he had a weapon, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A man concealing his face with white bandage tape and sunglasses gave an employee at the Giant Pharmacy on Greenway Corporate Drive a demand note for prescription narcotics about 9:30 a.m., according to reports.

The man implied he had a weapon, but did not show it to the employee before making off with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs. No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division have released surveillance video image of the suspect who is described as a white man in his 20s to early 30s. He is approximately 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-10 inches tall with a slender build.

He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt with hoody and blue jeans and a ball cap. The man was also walking with a cane while inside the store.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective M. Grimsley at 703-777-0475. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are asked to call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919 or submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app.

The Loudoun Sheriff app is available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Callers who provide information to Loudoun Crime Solvers that leads to an arrest and indictment could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
