An unoccupied $1 million home burned down Oct. 19 in Middleburg.
According to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, at approximately 9 p.m., fire and rescue units from Middleburg, Aldie, Round Hill and Fauquier County were dispatched to a house fire at 23406 Korea Lane in Middleburg, where a two-story single family home was burning. Responders on scene then requested a tanker task force for additional water.
Because of the size of the fire and the risk of structural collapse, fire crews were forced to act in defensive mode on the outside of the structure.
No one, civilians or fire personnel, were injured as a result of the incident. The house, however, has been deemed a total loss with damages estimated at $1 million.
The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
