Missing LCSO K-9 found safe in Hamilton

A Loudoun County K-9 that escaped from a groomer Friday was located Sunday near Ivandale Road in Hamilton.

The 80- to 85-pound German Shepherd named Bronco escaped from a business near Catoctin Circle and King Street in Leesburg.

Bronco appeared to be healthy when he was found, according to Liz Mills, spokesperson for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, but was taken to a local veterinarian as a precaution.

The agency received several calls from residents early Sunday reporting a possible sighting of Bronco near Foundry Road.

“We appreciate the outpouring of support in bringing Bronco back to his handler,” said Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman in a prepared statement. “The efforts of residents spreading the word through social media and offering to help in the search was overwhelming and we are grateful for those residents who kept an eye out for Bronco and helped bring him home.”

It’s not clear how the K-9 was able to escape from the groomers.

Again, you are making assumptions.  Contact the reporter. Contact the LCSO.  Getting on here and venting about what they’re not doing, isn’t going to get you anywhere.

Spark, that’s what the newspaper reporters are for, but given the articles and comments in the metro news media about this missing/lost/escaped/??? police dog it doesn’t seem like the LCSO wants to give out any details.  I would think that the reporter asked these questions. Other area law enforcement depts seem to be much more in providing the public with information.

Wow, that’s a plethora of questions.  I suggest calling LCSO or asking them face to face.

Hopefully the LCSO will have the same success with this as they did with their missing K9.  How does a police K9 go missing anyway?  Isn’t it strange that they say the dog escaped from the groomer?  Wouldn’t you think that these $10,000 dogs would be in control of their handler at all times, even when not in the patrol car?  Wish the LCSO would give the public some more information about this case, I think we have a right to know.  Was the handler with the dog? Perhaps this K9 was “undercover” like the they claim the deputy who got arrested for DUI and Refusal. These kind of things seem to be happening alot lately under this new Sheriff in the LCSO and they never want to put out the facts.  Wonder whats in store next???  Can’t this Sheriff control his people???
