The fast-casual restaurant MOD Pizza has signed a lease at The Purcellville Gateway shopping center, a company spokesperson from ECHO Realty confirmed Monday.

MOD Pizza will begin construction at the 2,900 square-foot space previously occupied by IJ Canns American Grille restaurant.

MOD Pizza is slated to open in Purcellville by the end of November. The eatery will occupy half of the former IJ Canns space, and the other half will be available for another tenant.

The company expects to hire 30 people and hold a job fair sometime in the fall.

This will be Loudoun's second MOD Pizza location, with the first located at Belmont Chase in Ashburn.

The Purcellville location is company-owned.

Based in Seattle, MOD opened its first location in 2008 and now has nearly 230 locations around the country, with nine in Virginia and more planed for 2018, according to a company spokesperson.

MOD's menu features individual artisan-style pizzas made on demand and cooked in an 800 degree oven, which means from start to finish the pizza is ready in 8-10 minutes. There will also be build-your-own salads, hand-spun milkshakes, and garlic and cinnamon strips on the menu.

I love MOD pizza and frequent one in Fairfax near my work. Takes about five minutes to get an awesome crispy thin crust (ask for extra crispy, it’s great), with whatever you want on it. Typically very cool decor, with interior brick walls. It’s like Chipotle for pizza but a much more pleasant place to sit down and eat. Great addition to the area!

Very expensive for the size. I got their medium size which to me is a small(very thin crust) and it ended up costing $10 without purchasing anything else. Very skimpy with the sauce and cheese. You have to know to speak up and ask for more when going through the line.
