The deadline for payment of the second half of personal property tax is Oct. 7.
Payments postmarked after Oct. 7 will incur a 10 percent late payment penalty, and payments not received within 60 days of the due date will incur an additional 15 percent penalty.
Payment options include:
•Online at loudoun.gov/ppt: To pay using electronic check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
•Telephone: 1-800-269-5971 may be called 24 hours a day; during regular business hours call 703-777-0280. To pay using electronic check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
•By mail: Bills may be mailed to: County of Loudoun, P.O. Box 1000, Leesburg, VA 20177-1000
•In person at Treasurer’s Office Locations: 1 Harrison St., S.E., 1st Floor, Leesburg, VA 20175; or 21641 Ridgetop Circle, Suite 104, Sterling, VA 20166
The offices are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Both offices will have extended hours, staying open until 6 p.m. Oct. 7.
The Loudoun County public information office points out that Loudoun County Treasurer’s Office locations will accept cash or check payments for town personal property taxes. Town residents must bring a separate check and personal property tax bills for the Town of Leesburg.
