Leesburg Police have identified a person of interest in connection with the Oct. 26 death of a Mexican National woman found dead in her Leesburg apartment.

Izamar Carmona-Pacheco, 20, was discovered about 12:30 a.m. in a bedroom within her apartment at The Fields of Leesburg at 807-L Edwards Ferry Road NE after family members contacted police, concerned for her safety.

The person of interest in her death has been identified as Yosmil Mombla Gonzales, a 30-year-old Cuban National who lived in the same building.

Gonzales committed suicide on Oct. 29, according to Master Police Officer Christopher Tidmore. He was found dead, hanging from a tree on the grounds of the Goose Creek Golf Course.

"We're kind of at a quandary, but he's deceased, so we have no one to interview," Tidmore said. "… More than likely, he's involved in her homicide."

Based on investigations and reports from the Virginia Medical Examiners Northern District Office, Carmona-Pacheco‘s death was ruled a homicide by drowning. Her death marked the only homicide to occur within the Town of Leesburg in 2012.

The timeline of events indicate Carmona-Pacheco was murdered between the late hours of Oct. 24 and the early morning hours of Oct. 25. Carmona-Pacheco and Gonzales had been involved in a relationship, which had been described as volatile by relatives and associates, according to Tidmore.

Gonzeles' death was investigated by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. During the investigation of both cases, the investigative units of the Leesburg Police Department and the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office remained in constant contact to facilitate rapid information sharing, Tidmore said.

It's not known if Gonzales' death was related to his alleged involvement in Carmona-Pacheco's murder. Liz Mills, spokesperson for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, was not immediately available for comment.

Frank, You must be proud to hangout with ignorant, hearless and low intelligence people. Probably took you all day to think that post up…

@ more cowbell
just curious how you managed to get a computer?? I know lots of people who are ignorant, heartless and with questionable intelligence but are unable to get a computer (because their mom’s stopped supporting them after they turned 30).

just curious how a 20 year old, probably illegal, was able to get an apartment??? I know people who work hard, legal and unable to get an apartment because of credit check(because lack of credit, not bad credit).

Apparently, Gonzales was playing so bad that day….
