The Leesburg Police Department is soliciting help from the public to help identify a man seen on a security camera breaking into cars in Leesburg. The vehicles were accessed in the early morning of Aug. 14 on the 200 block of Cornwall St. NW
Anyone with information about the incident or anyone who may be able to identify the suspect is asked to contact Det. Vogel at 703-771-4524. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call the Leesburg Crime Line at 703-443-8477. People can also submit information by texting the number 274637, starting the message with LPTIP.
Police are also reminding people to lock their vehicles, stating in the press release:
“Larceny from an unlocked vehicle is a crime of opportunity that targets anything of value left in the open such as loose change, laptop computers, GPS units and other electronic equipment.”
