Public invited to submit comments on Route 15 congestion in Loudoun County

Members of the public can continue to submit comments on congestion relief on Route 15 north of Leesburg via an online, interactive survey, Loudoun County government officials announced today.

The continued effort to seek public input in a congested area of the county follows public meetings held in June and July on alternatives that have been proposed to relieve congestion on the roadway.

In May, the Board of Supervisors directed that public information meetings be held to provide the community with an opportunity to evaluate concepts for solutions to Route 15 congestion following a presentation to the board.

In addition to the survey, comments and questions about the Route 15 project can be sent by email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Detailed information about the project, including links to the survey and Route 15 Congestion Report, can be found online at http://www.Loudoun.Gov/Route15.

The deadline to complete the survey is July 24.

Widen route 15 and double deck the American Legion.

It is that kind of thinking that has made this whole region a mess traffic wise. We should work together with DC and MD to improve roads. An example where there is no working together between VA MD is on the 495 freeway the HOT Lanes were built from Springfield and end abruptly before the American Legion Bridge before entering MD. This has caused massive delays basically between 6 AM and 8PM on the 495 North Freeway MON TO FRI all b/C Maryland does not want to participate in extending the HOT Lanes into MD. I agree the tolls are expensive but at least it is an option.

BTW - putting tolls for MD won’t “cease” the problem. Loudon county BOS approved WAAAAYYY to many houses in Luckets and Lovetsville and Leesburg and all the traffic flows south in the morning to Reston/Tysons and beyond. MD is not the problem. I hardly see any MD plates going south in AM.

the way to end the congestion is close the border with maryland during rush hour.  or, set up an ezpass only lane (it is only one lane in each direction) for southbound traffic just inside the state line with a fee of $15 between 0430 and 0900 monday thru friday.

congestion will cease.

if that does not work, set up random vechicle saftey inspections everyday day during the same hours.  the safety checkpoint areas are already there.

How funny, we can submit comments just so BOS can say they read them all and concluded nothing can be done….. Very deserving of that 62% raise…
