Three Purcellville residents were displaced after their home caught fire.
At approximately 4:50 Oct. 7, the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received calls reporting a house fire at 15997 Short Hill Road in Purcellville. Fire and rescue units from Purcellville, Round Hill, Lovettsville, Hamilton and Leesburg responded to the scene.
Responders initiated a defensive attack due to the severity of the fire and a tanker task force was added to the scene for more water.
The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office determined the fire to be accidental, caused by an improperly stored warm grill.
The single-family home sustained approximately $400,000 in damage. The family, two adults and a child, are currently staying with friends.
