Residents of the Dulles South/ Route 50 corridor can look forward to a new hospital in the foreseeable future.
It had already been announced that the StoneSpring Emergency Center would open in fall 2013, but now the Hospital Corporation of America has also announced that the full hospital center would break ground during this time period.
The announcement also came with a minor name change for the facility. Originally announced as StoneSpring Medical Center, HCA officials announced that upon opening, the medical site’s name will be StoneSprings Hospital Center.
The change was made to reflect the true name of the road it will be adjoining and the company’s new naming structure.
The full hospital center will feature:
•230,000 square feet of inpatient, outpatient, surgical and diagnostic services.
•124 beds, including 104 medical/surgery beds, 10 intensive care unit beds and 10 labor delivery and postpartum recovery beds.
•Fourteen emergency room bays, seven operating rooms, an MRI and CT and a cardiac catheterization lab.
HCA is projecting 32,000 admissions and 20,000 emergency room visits in its first year. Future plans for the site also include a 60,000-square-foot medical office building.
