Route 9 crash shuts down traffic for seven hours

A driver fell asleep at the wheel, ran off the road and struck a utility pole Monday morning, shutting down traffic on Route 9 for seven hours, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reports.

The crash near Route 9 and Cider Mill Road caused damage to a Dominion power pole.

The driver, Silvano Perez Linares, was charged with reckless driving.

Thank you to Mr. Silvano Perez Linares…you ruined a HUGE amount of people’s plans for an entire day and made things very unsafe.  Reckless driving is the least of things that should have been your penalty.  I say you need to respect the roads and others who use it safely.

Sleeping behind the wheel won’t be a problem once the robots take over driving.  In the meantime, I’d say this siesta should cost Silvano.

Well darn, Mrs. Mars killed two Texans on our roads and was hit with a reckless driving beef. Paid 2500 dollars and 6 months suspended license so this should be about 100 dollar fine, right?
