Loudoun School Board approves contract for new $50M school in Dulles

The Loudoun County School Board tonight gave the go-ahead for the multi-million dollar construction of MS-7, a new middle school in the Dulles South area.

The board approved a $51,193,300 contract to Winchester-based Howard Shockey & Sons Inc.

Four firms submitted bids to build the school, with Howard Shockey & Sons submitting the lowest figure. School Board documents showed the highest bid was just under $54 million.

Loudoun will bankrupt itself like Stockton, Mammoth Lakes, and San Bernardino, California did. It’s not a pretty picture when everyone is financially insane.

Please include ALL schools affected by this new school and document why NONE of these schools can be expanded to handle some of the student growth and minimize the busing of students etc. Where is the financial analysis proving that no other schools can be expanded as part of this CIP decision and incorporating operating cost features affected by the location decision?
