Small plane crashes at Leesburg Executive Airport

Virginia State Police is investigating a crash landing of an aircraft at Leesburg Executive Airport around 12:40 p.m.

There are no injuries and no significant damage to the aircraft, which crash landed at the 1000 block of Sycolin Road, according to VSP.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration have been notified.

@GoodOleLoudoun if you read; the airplane suffered a mechanical malfunction resulting in a gear-up landing where nobody was injured.  I am curious what bearing “Town Council” and “Tower control” could possibly have in this case?

GoodOleLoudoun - how about going to the Leesburg Town Council budget and reading the Leesburg Airport Description and Financial Information sections before making your obviously uniformed comment.  Talk about “Know-nothing”

The airport commission and a Know-nothing Town Council want to continually expand the Airport to more and more traffic.  These type of problems will continue.  Tower control or not there will be more crashes with more air traffic.  The members of the commission all give donations to all of the Council in return for getting votes to spend MILLIONS of Tax payer money at the airport supporting a bunch of rich people’s hobby.
