Sterling mother charged with child endangerment, public drunkenness

A Sterling mother has been arrested on drunk in public and child endangerment charges.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call at 10:50 p.m. Thursday about a woman laying unresponsive in a stairwell of an apartment complex on the 45700 block of Dayton Square. Deputies found out the woman, Keira L. Cahill, 43, had a child and were unable to find them.

Deputies ultimately found the child safe with a friend.

Cahill, of Sterling, was arrested and remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Comments

How can she be charged with child endangerment if the child was with a friend (assuming the friend was an adult)?  She was quoted “I wasn’t drunk in public, I was drunk in a private stairwell, the cops dragged me into public, arrest them!”
