An Uber driver has been charged with sexually assaulting a passenger in eastern Loudoun two days after Christmas.

The driver, Kal Y. Habtemariam, 44, of Sterling, was arrested today and charged with aggravated sexual battery and forcible sodomy.

According to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the charges stem from an investigation into an assault on Dec. 27, 2017.

The victim, an adult female, reported she was assaulted by the Uber driver after she was picked up in Herndon around 1:30 a.m.

The victim reported she was drinking with friends and used the service to get a ride to a residence in the Sterling area. The woman reportedly said that, as they were traveling in the area of Rutherford Circle, the driver stopped the vehicle and got into the backseat to assault her. The victim reported the incident later that day.

Habtemariam is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

Ever heard of Taxis?  Those drivers go through background checks.

If this guy had prior convictions then Uber needs to be held responsible.
