The Beautiful South rebrands to Hamilton Station Gastropub

The Beautiful South, a Hamilton restaurant established nearly 25 years ago, has changed its name to Hamilton Station Gastropub, but proprietor Adonis Stringos said the rebrand is more of an “update” than a total transformation.

“It’s a healthy rebranding after 25 years,” said Stringos, who has owned the restaurant for the past 16 years and whose father purchased the property in 1983. “There was nothing out here 25 years ago.”

The restaurant’s change in image is primarily a response to the changing county, as Loudoun has grown exponentially since The Beautiful South was founded.

“Loudoun County is becoming a consumer-driven area,” Stringos said, noting the dozens of wineries. “It’s a luxury county.”

In support of the local community, the restaurant carries local beers and wines and is emphasizing the local nature of the business with a name derived from the restaurant’s location, Hamilton Station Road. The interior of the restaurant will remain largely the same, with just a few refreshing touch-ups, and favorite dishes will remain on the new, slimmed-down menu.

As he always has, Stringos said he will continue to emphasize quality and ensuring that guests receive the full quality that they pay for. All items in the kids’ menu remain under $6.

Stringos expects some backlash from the updates, but holds that they are necessary to maintain the restaurant’s success and to help attract the local crowns. But he maintains the eatery will stay small enough to preserve the location of many Loudouners’ cherished memories.

“I couldn’t see myself doing anything else but running the restaurant,” Stringos said.

I love Beautiful Sourh! The new name is great!! Authentic food and a wonderful family!

Scraping some of the regulars out of there will be the only solution to the problems at that place.

this place is terrible and needs to be torn down.

I for one would appreciate a transformation. So gastropub it is.

Not sure why but Gastropub sounds like some sort of medical procedure…
